“Moment Driven.” That was the name of the workshop I attended taught by wedding photojournalist Candice Cusic in Chicago a couple of years ago. Capturing real moments while they happen; photography based patience, anticipation, and intuition. Anyone can shoot photos of a couple at sunset in front of a pretty scene, but what about all the in-between moments? The crying? The laughing? Admittedly, there were too many moments moments at this wedding to not walk away with, but the satisfaction of capturing moments that cannot be recreated is what keeps me coming back to wedding photography. Also, Andy and Monica are personal friends that I’ve know since my Durango days so I was honored that they trusted me with photographing their wedding.
